News from the Garst householdIt's been another busy year for us. Elliot turned two years old in January, and he's been a delight. It's just amazing to watch him grow and learn! Over the summer, he spent a week at Swim Ranch with his cousins, and he plans to return again next year. He absolutely loves his school, his friends, and his teachers. After school, we spend a lot of time coloring with crayons and watercolors, watching his favorite DVDs, playing with Play-Doh, running trains, chasing balls, bike-riding, and making plenty of trips to the park. Fortunately, we are within walking distance to a really nice park with a great playground, lots of shade, a lake, and a great trail for biking. Plus, we are within a half-mile of the Memphis Zoo, so we spend a lot of time there as well. Elliot's favorite animal at the zoo is the Giant Panda. Everytime we go, he asks to see the Panda bears! Dave finally got tired of the long hours at work and procured a position as Audio Visual Technician for the Fogelman Executive Center at the University of Memphis. His schedule is much lighter now, so he spends a lot more time at home. He still does some freelance work around town on occasion, but he enjoys having more control over his schedule. We certainly enjoy having him around more! Jennifer is still at the University of Memphis as well, both as a full-time employee and a part-time student. She's planning to take a break from classes this spring, but she'll continue working in the solar physics lab on a part-time basis. Happy New Year! |
